The American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012
January 3, 2013, President Obama signed the American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012 ("the Act"). The passing of the Act has averted the "fiscal cliff", and has resulted in many updates being made to Tax laws impacting both individuals and/or businesses. Certain tax breaks have been retained, there has been an increase in income taxes for high-income individuals, and slight increases in estate tax rates.
