Sensiba San Filippo Welcomes Trio of New Audit Tax Partners to Growing Technology Assurance & Advisory Group

SAN MATEO, CALIF. May 5, 2010 – Sensiba San Filippo LLP (SSF) is pleased to announce the promotion of Jeffrey Stark, Kevin Strain and Stephanie Tsiagkas to partner. As the newest audit partners in the firm's Technology Assurance & Advisory Group, their promotion reflects SSF's strategic plan to significantly expand the firm's technology and venture capital service capabilities in the South Bay.

“Jeff, Kevin and Stephanie are well known within the firm and among the clients they serve for their remarkable business acumen and deep commitment to client service,” said Managing Partner John Sensiba.  “They will be an enormous asset as we continue to meet the growing demands of the vibrant Bay Area VC and tech sectors.”

Mr. Stark and Ms. Tsiagkas will be based in the firm’s San Jose office; Mr. Strain will be based in the firm’s San Mateo office.

Mr. Stark specializes in serving venture-backed technology companies and assisting with industry-relevant issues including revenue recognition, equity and stock option accounting and financial reporting.  Prior to joining Sensiba San Filippo, Mr. Stark was the President and Co-founder of Ignyte Technology, Inc., a managed network security services provider, where he ran the Finance and Operations functions.  After successfully completing the sale of Ignyte to a publicly-traded company in 2001, Mr. Stark decided to leverage his real-world operations and management experience with technology-related companies by entering public accounting.

Mr. Strain has been serving privately-held clients in a variety of technology-related industries including venture capital, software, semiconductor and manufacturing for over nine years.  His experience encompasses issues relevant to technology companies, including specific accounting considerations such as software revenue recognition, accounting for private debt and equity offerings, acquisition and purchase accounting, and accounting for stock based compensation.  Kevin also has extensive experience with audits of employee benefit plans, including the audits of employee benefit plans for a number of public companies.

Ms. Tsiagkas manages audit and financial reporting engagements, primarily for venture-backed technology and venture capital firms.  As director of the Technology Assurance & Advisory Group’s in-house education program, she plays a significant role in the development of quality standards and strategic initiatives that help SSF deliver world-class service to technology companies.
