Sensiba San Filippo and ValleyCare Health System Partner in Emergency Management Drill
Sensiba San Filippo LLP (SSF), a leading Northern California-based CPA and business consulting firm, will be holding their 7th annual All Hands Day, during which all 100 employees participate in ValleyCare Health System’s emergency management drill on Friday, June 22, 2012.
Sensiba San Filippo employees will start their day with a company-wide briefing and then proceed to ValleyCare to assist the hospital in an emergency management simulated earthquake disaster drill. This drill will aid the hospital staff in testing existing skills of triaging patients and evacuating hospital patients following an earthquake. Hospitals are required to conducts drills and exercises biannually for Joint Commission, California Code of Regulations accreditation and/or grant requirement(s) by rehearsing their existing disaster plans. Drills and exercises are used to evaluate existing program plans, procedures, and capabilities through periodic reviews, testing and exercises.
SSF employees will be simulated “patients,” following a simulated earthquake on the Hayward fault. The exercise activities will involve the triaging (sorting of patients), tracking, and evacuating patients at the hospital.
In addition to playing “patients,” SSF employees will also receive training in basic first aid, CPR awareness and infant safety.

This is SSF’s seventh year participating in a company wide volunteer day. Past organizations the firm has assisted include: YMCA Silicon Valley, YMCA Camp Campbell in Boulder Creek, The Tech Museum in San Jose, Boy Scouts of America, George Mark Children’s House, and YWCA Silicon Valley.
