SSF commits to bolstering local community – Karen Burns joins Children’s Hospital Audit Committee

Sensiba San Filippo LLP (SSF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Karen Burns, CPA and SSF Audit Partner, to the Audit Committee of Alameda County’s Children’s Hospital & Research Center Oakland.

Ms. Burns and her family have been residents of Alameda County for more than 20 years, and she is based in SSF’s office there, in Pleasanton. “Living in this area has afforded me many opportunities both professionally and personally, and I’m deeply committed to giving back to the community,” she said. “I look forward to working with the Children’s Hospital & Research Center Oakland’s Audit Committee to leverage my experience and contribute to the financial health of this wonderful organization.”

“Bolstering our local community is one of the cornerstones of SSF, whether through the individual involvement of our employees or collectively through our Community Counts program,” said John Sensiba, SSF’s Managing Partner. Mr. Sensiba, who is also based in SSF’s Pleasanton office, currently serves as Audit Chair of the ValleyCare Health System and is involved with the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary Club of Pleasanton and the Pleasanton Unified School District Budget Advisory Council.

Ms. Burns provides audit, attestation and accounting services to manufacturing and distribution companies, specializing in companies in the food and beverage industry. She is also a member of the Niles Rotary in Fremont and serves on the Board of Directors of the StarStruck Community Theater.
